Negril today is big resort town that is popularly known all over the world some people even thought it was an island. This small village that has propelled to fame and is what is today has created such pride in this community. The locals here have such a patriotic attitude, that they require no help from the Tourism officials to market this town. This is evident from the skillful ways in which they interact and tell stories to the visitors exuding the distinctive character that you find in the Jamaican people. It was said that one tourist on his arrival at Jamaica exclaimed “I he thought he was visiting the Negril Islands”.

Jamaica is such a blessed and flourishing island and this is very much evident in this beautiful town. There is no beach in the Caribbean that can match the ones that you will find on this island. Negril has some of the best beaches that you find, with the famous seven miles of gleaming and sparkling white sand beach. The most popular beaches is the Long Bay that curves only just a little bit and the famous Bloody Bay beach which once was the place where they would slaughter whales, today its like a retreat.

Numerous hotels can be found poised no further than the specified height of two stories beckoning to the visitors. On any given day that you visit Negril the beach areas are filled with people having lots of fun activities that help to make their trip a success. If you happen to be in Negril and not staying at one of the resort hotels you are still welcome to join them for the day and enjoy all amenities at a minimal cost.

While in Negril you will notice that there is none of the high rise condominium and apartment buildings as you would see in the other resort areas. This is because they do not want to spoil the temperament of this town; there is an existing code that restricts building from going up higher than the largest coconut tree.

The West End area of Negril is lined with resorts, bar, restaurants and other activities that you can participate in, although there is no beach area like the other section of the town. The stretch of white sand beach is not the only place where you can get a taste of paradise. You will be fascinated with the cliffs, some people will tell you that you haven’t truly enjoyed all that Negril has to offer if you have not take a plunge off the cliffs into the sea. The West End can be classified as the adventure park of Negril; you can even enjoy exploring the caves. When you have finished with this bit of exhilaration, you can stop by any of the hotel, bar or restaurant that is clinging to the edge of the cliff and have some refreshments while enjoying the beautiful sunset.

You would have also realized by now that Negril is an easy town to get around; you can walk from the hotel stretch straight to the west ends. But if you are the type of person that likes to do things at a faster pace, there are lots of options for you, for instance you could hire a jeep or motor bike.
